The clouds were a bit ominous on this Spring evening in April, but it didn't affect the cheerful attitude of this beautiful family one bit! In fact, we had so much fun it was hard to stop taking pictures!
I have known Tisha and Sam since we moved into our house five years ago. They had just moved from Utah, so we were both getting to know people and settling into our new church ward (a unit of members in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.) It wasn't hard to become friends with Tisha and her family because Tisha is one of the most friendly, cheerful, and fun people I have ever met. She always has a smile on her face and she strives to see the positive side of almost everything.
Each of their children are different in personality, but each one is as good as they come. I have been able to get to know each of the oldest three girls in the Young Women's programs at church. Some are outgoing and some are a little more reserved, but each are kind, thoughtful, talented, and welcoming to everyone they meet. I have gotten a sneak peak into the personalities of each of the two youngest and the youngest daughter is driven in her activities (she is a self-taught gymnast and dare I say contortionist - she is so flexible!) and the sole little boy at the end is full of energy and curiosity!
Sam is quiet and has a steadiness about him for being in a family full of girls. It is obvious that he is very much wrapped around each of their fingers, as he should be. We had fun getting a few pictures of just him and his only son, who has big shoes (and a jacket) to fill but has such a great example for a dad and the spunky personality to survive having four older sisters!
Tisha is such a great example of a mom who cheers for her children in whatever they do. She homeschools them and does an amazing job of providing an atmosphere of learning in their home, whether they are studying or not. She is an amazing gardener and her backyard is a laboratory for the kids to learn and explore. They are constantly experimenting with how things grow and implementing their learning into real life experiences. She has kept me going as I have started my own garden with her positive, can-do attitude and constant love of learning through success and failure in the garden.
I think it's obvious this is a family that loves being together, learning, and exploring together. They are some of my favorite people and I'm so excited to see where life takes each of these amazing children. No doubt they will accomplish much with such awesome parents! Thank you, Tisha and Sam, for the opportunity to capture this moment in time for your family!
