All the world is a stage for my next amazing senior! Shannon has spent her high school years (and many more before) acting and singing on various stages in front of various audiences. She has performed in nine different productions during high school including Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Annie, and most recently Mamma Mia, dancing and singing her heart out! Along with the musicals, she has also acted in theater productions over the years which requires a lot of her time for rehearsals and stage production.
In addition to theater, Shannon has performed for four years in choir, two of those years in varsity choir and her last year in Encore, her high school’s show choir. All of this has required hours and hours of practice and traveling to perform for local schools and communities. Shannon’s smile and zest for life comes across on the stage and she is excellent at sharing her enthusiasm and joy to those for whom she is performing.
Away from the stage, Shannon maintains an excellent GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society which heavily focuses on serving in the community and excelling in school. Shannon will graduate Summa Cum Laude and has worked hard to achieve all of her success!
Shannon's in-school accomplishments have taken up a lot of her time and energy, but Shannon is also able to serve in other capacities at church. She was a member of the Stake Youth Council for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she spent hours planning and preparing dances, youth camps and many other activities for her peers, as well as serving friends and peers. She is an excellent leader and reaches out to others in friendship and guidance.
Shannon plans to attend BYU in the fall and spread her wings even further in college. She hasn’t quite decided on a major but will most likely choose to study something in the school of fine arts. She is a natural actress and has a beautiful voice and will add her spark no matter what she decides to do.
As always, I love to hear what parents have to say about their child. Shannon’s mom said, “Her dad and I are crazy proud of her accomplishments, but mostly of the genuinely good person she is and her compassion and desire to make a positive difference in the lives of those around her.”
I couldn’t agree more as I’ve had the opportunity of getting to know Shannon for the past several years. She loves to perform and bring joy to others. I have no doubt she will continue to be a force for good and accomplish all of her goals! Congratulations, Shannon!
