When Shalene contacted me to take family pictures for her family, she let me know a dear friend of mine had referred her. It always makes my heart happy to know I’m being referred by clients and friends because I love making new connections!
This was Shalene and Marcus’ first session as a new family! They met in Houston and recently moved here to San Antonio. When they got out of the car, I recognized Marcus and his two kids right away! It was so fun to have that surprise and an additional connection to this family!
We had such a fun time capturing this first for them. The kids were so happy and didn’t mind getting their pictures taken at all! I was especially happy that the youngest of them all was ready and willing to smile for the camera...there was a time he wasn’t thrilled about it and I can see how much he’s grown!
Something I have to laugh about now is that, during the session, the grounds keepers at the JW Marriott kept driving by us so we had to stay out of their way. It was almost comical how many times we had to move! Needless to say, I won’t be using this location again anytime soon. But Marcus and Shalene were such good sports about it. We just laughed our way through it and had a great time despite the constant interruptions!
I loved getting to know Shalene’s kids as well and they are all so kind and especially sweet to one another.
