Light and Lovely Senior Session at The Pearl

Dedicated. Driven. Dynamic. These are all words that describe this ambitious and amazing graduating senior!

Teya is a beautiful young woman with many talents. Some of them may surprise you! In the six-and-a-half years I've know her, she has been quiet and humble but at the same time, a fierce competitor. After learning violin in middle school and often accompanying her church choir, she moved up to high school and onto exploring and elevating her athletic aptitude.

During her freshman year, Teya's older brother was on the high school wrestling team and strongly encouraged Teya to try it out. It didn't take long for her to realize that not only did she enjoy it, she excelled at it! She became the Team Captain her sophomore year and took third in district, fourth in region and ninth in state. Her junior year she took second in district and sixth in region. Teya's hard work earned paid off in many ways, one of which was lettering in wrestling.

As busy as she was in wrestling, Teya also joined the Cross-Country team her junior year where she ran the 1600 meter. On top of wrestling and cross country, she has studied hard in her classes. So far, she has been accepted into five Division II schools, earned two Merit Scholarships and is waiting to hear on a third. She is truly an example of what it takes to make and achieve goals!

Teya is obviously dedicated to school and athletics, but she is also very dedicated to her faith and belief in Jesus Christ. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she has served as the class president of her Young Women's class where she helped other girls feel welcome, planned and executed weekly activities and taught lessons on Sundays. She also served on the Stake Youth Council with a group of about 30 other youth. She helped plan activities for over 300 young men and young women in the area and ministered to many friends and schoolmates. She served in that capacity for a year but has continued to be a friend and example to all with whom she comes into contact.

The future is very bright for Teya as she contemplates which school to attend for college. She would like to study business and chiropractic medicine. Watch out for this small but mighty young woman as she forges ahead and accomplishes her goals. Congratulations, Teya!
