I was so excited when Alyssa contacted me for family pictures! I sometimes freeze people in my mind at a certain age, and then when I see them after several years it's like a mental whiplash. That's what happened during this session when Alyssa's oldest daughter told me she was in 8th grade! I feel like she couldn't possibly be older than ten. This actually happens to me a lot when I see friends I haven't seen for quite a while.
I've been watching this beautiful family grow for the past eleven years so it was a special treat to be able to take their pictures and spend time with them for an evening. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful evening. We caught those last few rays of the sun as they went down which gave this session such a dream-like quality!
Grant and Alyssa are such amazing people! Grant was a scout leader for a few of my boys and he was extremely dedicated and invested in their progression. His patience and long-suffering were also apparent since he kept a half dozen or more boys occupied and engaged in weekly activities. That is no small feat! He's an awesome dad to these three beautiful girls as well!
Alyssa is such an inspiration! She's creative, detail-oriented, and driven and has inspired me in so many ways. Over the many years we spent in the same ward (this is a geographical grouping of families in our church) she had so many beautiful Christmas parties, baby showers, and get-togethers with delicious food and gorgeous decorations. When I first met her I thought she had gone to culinary school because she is an amazing cook and baker. Those are not her only talents, though! She has become a very successful real estate agent and I've watched her work tirelessly at it. She's someone who accomplishes what she sets out to do.
Now, let's talk about their beautiful daughters! They are such beautiful young ladies, inside and out! They have a special bond as sisters and I can attest that they are much kinder to each other than my kids. I know they are extremely bright and talented like their mom. They are swimmers, singers, musicians, and dancers and I'm sure many other things that I don't even know about!
Grant and Alyssa, I had such a great time with your family and hope it's not too long before we get another opportunity to connect! Thank you for allowing me to capture your amazing family and I can't wait to see the amazing women your girls become! They are well on their way!
